Deep Tissue Massage ~ Help Break Down Fat ?

Does deep tissue massage help break down fat areas, not remove it from the body, but help to break up ';deposits';, Has this been scientifically proven with results.

What exactly does this do and is it worth it to try ?

Have you had experience with this?

Thank you so much!Deep Tissue Massage ~ Help Break Down Fat ?
I think it's just another marketing gimmick to get gullible people to think they can lose weight without sacrificing some calorie intake. Think about it - if they massage hard enough to ';break up deposits'; and ';break down fat areas';, don't you think they are doing some tissue damage to your body ??

Change your lifestyle and do this forever. Drink lots of water, walk, run, or swim an hour every day except 1 then do stretching and upper body toning. Eat fruits %26amp; vegetables.

It can help but I dont know of any studies which have given proof of it.

It cant hurt to try and you'll probably enjoy it;
Hi no it doesn't break down fat at all. The only thing that breaks down fat is excercise. Massage does have some great benefits though, but helping you lose weight wouldn't be one of them, unless you were already training, like Sports massage to go with your exercise routine....
You had better hope not. Fat embolism would be fatal.

The body can use fat. Just because it's ';broken up'; wouldn't make it easier or harder to utilize. The fat has to be used by the body. Being broken up wouldn't get it out of your body.
Doesn't break it up .

Doesn't help or cause you to loss weight.

Although it may feel good a free back rub will feel just as good.

It will cause weight loss in your wallet.
I don't know much about deep tissue massage breaking down body fat, but I can tell you it was invaluable in helping me treating sciatica, leg and back pain. The therapist was a very experienced sports massuse and was worth every penny in getting me out of pain
Hi, how are you doing!
