Is there a difference between relaxation and deep tissue massage?

sure! a relaxation massage is meant for light rubbing. this gives you a good feeling but doesn't leave you muscles with much of a long term benefit.

a deep tissue massage is penetrating deep into the muscle. although painful, it possesses an actual benefit from the massage because the deep penetration opens up blood flow to the muscles and keeps them operating better.

if you are looking forward to relaxing go with the respective massage; if you are looking for a muscle benefit-maybe from sports pain or a big tummy up front, go for the deep tissue. Japanese shiatsu massage is the best! enjoy either way!Is there a difference between relaxation and deep tissue massage?
relaxation is a time when you take out for yourself. it can be doing something or doing nothing at all. deep tissue massage is the physical rubbing of your musclesIs there a difference between relaxation and deep tissue massage?
Well I think there would be a difference. I had one massage-a deep tissue massage and it was not very relaxing. It was uncomfortable for me. But I think it helped my muscles overall for a couple of weeks. I would not want one again. I would like to try a Swedish massage or a more normal type that people expect to experience. The deep tissue one just mainly involves pushing into the muscles for a few seconds at a time and it doesn't involve much strain on the person since they are not rubbing your back. I think it is a waste of money. Talk to a massage office to get an idea on the different kinds to see which you would like and benefit the most from.
